The NTP Steering Committee includes 16 members: 10 faculty, the NTP Director, the NTP Associate Director, 2 NTP staff, and 2 NTP students. The faculty members include a mix of assistant, associate, and full professors, whose research spans the breadth of neuroscience research. Because they are members of departments from across campus, the faculty brings together diverse perspectives on the field of neuroscience and graduate training. The inclusion of NTP students on the Steering Committee ensures that the program has student input. At a minimum, the NTP Steering Committee meets twice per year. These meetings enable lively discussion about ways to advance the program as well as a review of each student’s progress (in a closed-door session after the student members are excused). The Steering Committee thus provides regular feedback on the progress and effectiveness of all aspects of the NTP from multiple perspectives.
